Veterinarians

Dr. Cindy Wolfe

Veterinarian/Owner
Dr. Wolfe's Bio
Dr. Wolfe’s love of animals and their care began at an early age on the family farm. Her mom encouraged her to turn that love into a career in veterinary medicine. She is a ’94 graduate of Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she joined Drs. Steve and Teresa Wills and became a partner of the hospital in 2001.

One of her favorite aspects of being a veterinarian is caring for her patients, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and interacting with her clients. She always loves to see puppies and kittens as exciting new additions to the practice family. Over the years, she has welcomed the opportunities she’s had to make a difference in the lives of pets by improving their health and allowing them to have more quality years with their owners.

Dr. Wolfe shares her home with her husband Buck and their children, Katie, Kara, and Haley. She’s also the proud pet mom of three cats, Moonlight, Leo, and Harper; dogs, Willy, Jill, and Bradley; horses, Cracker Jack and Baxter; Bobby the Beta fish; and Cooper the parakeet. When she’s noshe’s Wills, she enjoys spending time with her children, church activities, working outside, running, reading, and watching old TV shows and movies with her family.

Dr. Whitney Bruce

Veterinarian/Owner
Dr. Bruce's Bio

Dr. Bruce joined Wills Animal Hospital in 2014 after earning her DVM from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and became a partner in the practice in 2019. She enjoys building relationships with her patients and working with their parents to keep them as happy and healthy as possible. She shares her home with her husband Bryon, their daughter Rosie, and their cat, Spooky. When Dr. Bruce isn’t caring for animals at Wills, she enjoys traveling, watching Auburn football, and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband also feel strongly about raising awareness and money for congenital heart disease in memory of their son James.

Dr. Cassie Garvin

Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Garvin's Bio

Dr. Garvin grew up in the Owensboro/Hancock Co. region. She went to undergrad at Murray State University to obtain her Pre-Vet degree in 2014. She then attended Ross University of Veterinary Medicine where graduated in 2018 and has been with us since. Dr. Garvin’s favorite hobby include traveling or anything that involves being outdoors with her husband & animals. She also enjoys playing pickleball, volleyball and attending their monthly bookclub. Dr. Garvin currently has 2 pets which include a dog named Nigel, who is 8lbs of pure terror, and a cat, Sebastian, who rules the house. Since working with us, Dr. Garvin has found that she loves her patients and clients very dearly along with the community. She feels that the whole team is very collaborative on helping with cases and ensuring the best care for each pet. Her knowledge and patient care is always improving in our environment and she feels lucky to have began her career with us.

Dr. Nichole Whitfill

Dr. Nichole Whitfill is a 2019 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Breckinridge County, KY and went to undergrad at Murray State University where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture with a focus on Pre-Vet medicine and also earned her Masters of Science with a certification in Veterinary Hospital Management. She loves reproductive medicine and hopes to build this area of the practice one day. She also has a passion for nutrition and orthopedics. She shares a home with her Husband Jesse, son Kai, 3 St Bernards (Dmitri, Wish, and Tuesday), 1 cat (Apollo), and a horse (Eros). When not working, Dr Whitfill loves to show her dogs, travel, spend time with her son, and binge watch TV shows with her husband. She is excited about starting her career here at Wills Animal Hospital and looks forward to creating lasting relationships with the clients.

Dr. Alia Flowers's Bio

Dr. Flowers is a 2025 graduate from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Louisville. Since joining us in 2025, she has found that her favorite part about working here is how truly kind and loving our team of people are. Being a recent graduate and practicing veterinary medicine can be very challenging but she feels that our team has offered her grace and patience as she grows as a Doctor. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors which include fishing, hunting, porch swing napping, and working with the boys. She shares her home with a one-eyed orange tabby cat, Buckwild, and 2 dogs, Gus Gus, who is a mixed breed, goofy mutt, and Sulley – a sweet, chocolate longhaired dachshund.

Dr. Emily Bratcher

Dr. Bratcher's Bio

Dr. Bratcher is 2026 Auburn State University graduate where she earned her DVM, along with a Bachelor’s of Science & minors in chemistry and Spanish from Murray State University in 2022. She enjoys the culture of kindness, respect and continual learning from our large team of doctors and technicians. Dr. Bratcher shares her home with 2 cats, Newt & Sadie and her horse, Geronimo. In her free time, she enjoys visiting local coffee & pastry shops with her husband, spending time at the barn, and growing and arranging flowers.

Desirae

Desirae's Bio

Desirae is a graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture with an emphasis on veterinary technology, a Master of Science, and a certification in veterinary hospital management. She served as a graduate assistant at MSU, teaching pre-vet and vet tech students nursing and surgical skills. Desirae has a senior rescue dog, Finbar, from a local rescue. She enjoys using her surgery and nursing skills while leading our surgery department to enhance the patients’ lives here at Wills Animal Hospital.

Courtney

Courtney's Bio
Courtney is our Head Technician and is a graduate of Baker College in Flint, Michigan with an Associate of Applied Science degree in veterinary technology. Courtney moved here with her Corgi Bonnie. She has since added Karma (Black Lab) and Yotie (Mountain Cur), Dakota (Wirehaired Pointer/mix) to her family. Courtney’s favorite hobby outside of work is hunting and horseback riding. Something she enjoys at work is meeting new people and their pets and working with her fellow techs and doctors to provide them the best possible care.

Raven's Bio

Raven graduated from OCTC with an associate degree in applied science from the veterinary technology program. She has five dogs, a bird, and two ducks. She enjoys seeing different patients every day and being able to help the doctors and fellow techs provide the best care possible for them.

Brianna

Brianna's Bio
Brianna graduated from the OCTC Veterinary Technology program. She has two beagles, Chase and Sadie and three cats, FatCat, Buttermilk, and Mommakins. One aspect that she loves about her job is working with all of her friendly coworkers and feels as if everyone is dedicated to giving the best care possible for all of our patients. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling when she can.

Katelyn graduated from the Veterinary Technology program through OCTC. She shares her home with 2 cats, Cowboy and Tex. Her favorite part about working at Wills Animals Hospital is the quality of care that we provide.

Falyn

Falyn's Bio

Falyn graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at OCTC where she plans to graduate and become a Licensed Vet Tech. She has a dog named Ruth and a cat named Kitty. Outside of work Falyn enjoys being outside and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite part about working with us is getting to spend time with all the patients and learning their personalities.

Julia

Julia

Julia's Bio

Julia graduated from OCTC with an associate degree in applied science from the Veterinary Technology program. She has 2 beagles, Maggie and Kota, and 4 cats named Mr. Wilson, Lucian, Storm and Lurch. She also raises chickens, ducks, and has 2 pet turkeys – Zeus & Ruby. Julia enjoys working with owners and their senior pets during their end of life care ever since having the opportunity in adopting an elderly beagle named Molly from Pay It Forward Animal Welfare Network. While adopting an elderly pet seems like a lot, she’s enjoys preaching about the big love they still have to offer and how to keep them comfortable at the end. She also feels strongly about client education and making sure that every pet owner understands their pet’s health. In her free time, she enjoys being in her flower field, making floral arrangements, hunting, and spending time with her husband and 3 daughters – Cecilia, Lydia, and Cathryn.

Aliyah

Aliyah's Bio

Aliyah is a graduate of OCTC with an associate degree in veterinary technology. She shares her home with two Dachshunds, Otto and Henry. She enjoys meeting the pets and their owners and developing relationships with them to provide the best care possible.

Alissa

Alissa's Bio
Alissa graduated from OCTC where she received her associates degree in applied science from the Veterinary Technology program. Her own pets include a cat, Little Buddy, and a Welsh Pembroke Corgi, Einstein (Ein). One thing she enjoys most about Wills is being with her coworkers. She finds comfort in knowing that she is able to come to work and the people around her will always be there for her. In Alissa’s free time, she enjoys drawing and painting, especially while using charcoals and pastels. The messier, the better!

Hailey graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at OCTC. Her own pets include 2 dogs, Coco & Moose; 2 cats, Klayton & Nala; A ferret named Bandit; 3 Box turtles, Todd, Gus, & Roxy; and 1 Red Ear slider turtle. Her favorite hobbies in her free time include watching tv/movies, playing video games, going to hockey games, and spending time with her family. Hailey loves being able to work with animals and learning new things every day. She also enjoys her co-workers, clients and seeing all of the different breeds of animals that come through our hospital.

Nick graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at Murray State University. One thing he enjoys about working here is the encouragement and kindness that everyone offers and the overall atmosphere in the hospital. In his free time he enjoys hunting and fishing, playing video games, and binge watching horror movies.

Kim

Kim's Bio

Kim enjoys talking with clients in-depth, getting to know them, and seeing how much they love their pets. She adopted her lab/Pyrenees mix Pearl from a rescue who had a litter of puppies needing homes. Pearl was the only girl in the litter, and it was love at first sight.

Fun fact: Kim has worked at Wills Animal Hospital for over 20+ years!

Judy

Judy's Bio
Judy graduated from Apollo High School and has been with us for 15+ years. She takes great pleasure in being able to offer comfort and care to the animals that come in and the opportunity to get to know their owners. She shares her home with three cats— Joy, Momma Flo, and Little Emma—and two dogs – standard poodle and shih Tzu, Nicole and Faith.

Katie

Katie's Bio

Katie studied Business Management and Veterinary Care through Penn Foster. She has over 10 years of experience in dog breeding and development, in which she feels that it has given her a strong foundation in canine behavior, care, and handling. She also has hands-on experience in training service dogs as well as working dogs in Schutzhund (IGP) a d Protection Sports Association (PSA). Katie appreciates our team’s dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care. She finds that helping animals and supporting their owners during important moments is incredibly rewarding. Katie shares her home with her German shepherd, Rumble, and 2 fluffy cats, Wabi Sabi and Sushi – her house is never boring. Outside of work, Katie’s hobbies include spending time with her pets and being at the barn with horses. She also enjoys volunteering her time to teach others about the Bible and working with Dream Riders of Kentucky through therapeutic riding.

CJ

CJ's Bio

Growing up, CJ always wanted to work with animals. However, to her, that dream felt unreachable. When we had a CSR position available, she jumped to it and has since felt that it has fulfilled both of her joys of working with animals and helping people. CJ has 2 ball pythons – King Hezekiah and Queen Esther. She also owns a mutt named Vickie Layla that she adopted from the Owensboro Shelter. Outside of work, CJ enjoys traveling, gaming, art and of course, spending time with Layla. Above all, she enjoys volunteering her time to sharing the Bible’s message of how to have a happy life.

Lisa Durham is a Kentucky Wesleyan graduate with a degree in zoology. Lisa enjoys working with all of the patients and the variety that every day brings. Along with her husband and two daughters, she shares her home with horses, dogs, and cats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, photography, and teaching riding lessons.

Jessica is a graduate of Deltona High and Daytona State. She shares her home with Sky the cat and dogs, Starla and Mia. Jessica is proud of the high-quality treatment options available for pet care at Wills Animal Hospital and enjoys working with the doctors and staff.

Cindy graduated from Purdue University as a Vet Tech. Having been here for over 25+ years, she loves many things about working with us. Cindy believes that knowing that overall we have some of the best Doctors and Techs in the business and she believes that we never stop thinking about what’s in the best interest of our patients and the people who love them. Her four-legged kids include Ricky Monkey the cat and her 3 Shelties, Banner, Missy Boo, and Dexter Smidgen, who she shows in Rally and has been to national competition with twice and her other 2 dogs, Benjamin and Rudy. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the Maine coastline.

My name is Emily Houser, I’m 18 years old, and I graduated from Daviess County High School in 2019. Right now, I am taking classes at Owensboro Community and Technical College, but I will be transferring to Murray State University this fall to start my education in pre-veterinary medicine. After I finish classes at Murray, I would like to go to Auburn University to become a veterinarian. I would love to practice on both large and small animals. I’ve been working with animals for the last two and a half years, and I love it! Working at Wills is awesome because I get to learn new things every day and take care of animals!

Caroline

Caroline's bio

Caroline’s current plan for her future is becoming a Veterinarian. She wants to attend Murray State University for her pre-vet studies and following that, she hopes to further her education at Auburn University or Purdue for Veterinary School. She has a horse named Jasper who is a charming, chestnut gelding with a wonderful personality. In addition to Jasper, she also cares for several goats. She has found that all of her animals bring so much joy to her life. Caroline’s hobbies include being riding Jasper and playing volleyball at her high school. Her favorite thing about working here with us is the opportunity to interact with the animals and connecting with fellow staff members. She feels that we provide a supportive environment and a shared passion for animal care, making each day enjoyable and fulfilling.
