Dr. Teresa Wills
Dr. Wills' Bio
Dr. Wills knew she wanted to become a veterinarian after looking up to her father, who bred beagles. Years later, she pursued her dream and established Wills Animal Hospital with her husband, Dr. Steve Wills. She earned her DVM from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Texas A&M University. To stay up to date with the latest in veterinary medicine, she attends numerous continuing education conferences annually.
She enjoys getting to know her clients and their pets and welcoming new experiences and challenges that every day brings.
When she’s not caring for pets at Wills Animal Hospital, Dr. Teresa Wills cares for her own fur babies, including Nettie, her constant companion Yorkshire Terrier and Nettie’s best friend, a house cat named Fluffy. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and children, Matthew and Emily; attending music festivals; snow skiing; hiking; and directing at Theatre Workshop of Owensboro.
Dr. Cindy Wolfe
Dr. Wolfe's Bio
Dr. Wolfe’s love of animals and their care began at an early age on the family farm. Her mom encouraged her to turn that love into a career in veterinary medicine. She is a ’94 graduate of Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she joined Drs. Steve and Teresa Wills and became a partner of the hospital in 2001.
One of her favorite aspects of being a veterinarian is caring for her patients; diagnosing and treating illnesses; and interacting with her clients. She always loves to see puppies and kittens as exciting new additions to the practice family. Over the years, she has welcomed the opportunities she’s had to make a difference in the lives of pets by improving their health and allowing them to have more quality years with their owners.
Dr. Wolfe shares her home with her husband Buck and their children, Katie, Kara, and Haley. She’s also the proud pet mom of four cats, Moonlight, Leo, Harper and Kindle; dogs, Willy, Jill, Bradley, and Foxy; horses, Cracker Jack and Baxter; Bobby the Beta fish; and Cooper the parakeet. When she’s not at Wills, she enjoys spending time with her children, church activities, working outside, running, reading, and watching old TV shows and movies with her family.
Dr. Whitney Bruce
Dr. Bruce's Bio
Dr. Bruce joined Wills Animal Hospital in 2014 after earning her DVM from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and became a partner in the practice in 2019. She enjoys building relationships with her patients and working with their parents to keep them as happy and healthy as possible. She shares her home with her husband Bryon, their daughter Rosie, and two cats (K-Kat and Spooky). When Dr. Bruce isn’t caring for animals at Wills, she enjoys traveling, watching Auburn football, and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband also feel strongly about raising awareness and money for congenital heart disease in memory of their son James.
Dr. Cassie Garvin
Dr. Garvin's Bio
Dr. Cassie Garvin is a 2018 graduate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and completed her clinical year at the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Lewisport, Kentucky and went to undergraduate school at Murray State University, and she was excited to return back to Kentucky to work and get involved with the community. She loves exotic animals like birds, reptiles, and small mammals, as well as cats and dogs! She currently has one dog who she loves to take camping and hiking in her free time.
Dr. Katie Williams
Dr. Williams' Bio
Dr. Katie Williams joined the staff of Wills Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian at the end of May 2016. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a member of the AVMA and the CVM. Her desire to help people and animals led her to do veterinary mission work in Costa Rica. Seeing the Costa Rican rain forest was an amazing experience. She shares her life with her dog, Maggie, who is a beagle mix. In her spare time, she enjoys reading for both work and leisure; being outdoors; and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys the friendly, hard-working staff here at Wills Animal Hospital and the excellent mentoring she receives from the staff doctors. Getting to know her clients and their pets and making a positive difference in their lives is her favorite part of being a veterinarian.
Licensed Veterinary Technicians
Becka graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture with an emphasis in veterinary technology. Her own pets include Willow the Miniature Australian Shepherd dog, Layla her rescue pup, and Blue the Blue Heeler dog. She also has her small herd of beef cattle that she enjoys caring for on her farm. She loves being part of a team that is able to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.
Jessica is a graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture, specializing in pre-veterinary medicine and animal health technology. She shares her home with her cat Angel. One aspect of her job that she really enjoys is improving the lives of our patients through enhanced client education.
Desirae is a graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture with an emphasis on veterinary technology, a Master of Science, and a certification in veterinary hospital management. She has Koda, a Border Collie mix who spent time as an “assistant instructor” at MSU, helping pre-vet and vet tech students develop their basic skills while Desirae served as a graduate assistant. She enjoys using her many skills to enhance the lives of the patients here at Wills Animal Hospital.
Courtney is our Head Technician and is a graduate of Baker College in Flint, Michigan with an Associate of Applied Science degree in veterinary technology. Courtney moved here with her Corgi Bonnie. She has since added Karma (Black Lab) to her family. She enjoys meeting new people and their pets and working with her fellow techs and doctors to provide them the best possible care.
Raven graduated from OCTC with an associate degree in applied science from the veterinary technology program. She has five dogs, a bird, and two ducks. She enjoys seeing different patients every day and being able to help the doctors and fellow techs provide the best care possible for them.
Judy graduated from Apollo High School. She takes great pleasure in being able to offer comfort and care to the animals that come in and the opportunity to get to know their owners. She shares her home with five cats—Maggie Mae, Jodi, Joy, Momma Flo, and Little Emma—and her two standard poodles, Morgan and Nicole.
Morgan graduated from Daviess Co. High School and attends OCC, pursuing a BSN. She enjoys the variety of animals she gets to work with. Her own pets include May the pony, Bagherra the cat, Squirt the turtle, and her dogs, Lady and Johnny Cash.
Julia graduated from OCTC with an associate degree in applied science from the veterinary technology program. She has three dogs: a boxer/lab mix named Drake and beagles named Maggie and Sadie. She enjoys meeting the clients at Wills Animal Hospital and working with the different animals. She likes that every day is exciting and that her coworkers are as passionate about their job as she is.
Aliyah is a graduate of OCTC with an associate degree in veterinary technology. She shares her home with two Dachshunds, Otto and Henry. She enjoys meeting the pets and their owners and developing relationships with them to provide the best care possible.
Allie graduated from Apollo High School and is now a graduate of the Vet Tech Program at OCTC. Her family includes her Australian Shepherd Riley and her cat Tom. Allie enjoys getting to take care of the variety of animals that come into Wills Animal Hospital.
Jessika attended Seminole High School in Florida and took some classes at Florida Southwestern. Her family includes Monty the Chiweenie and her cat Rebel. Her favorite part of her job is the feeling she is helping pets.
Lexie is a first-year student at OCTC and enrolled in the Vet Tech Program. She has a horse named Shianne, a Boxer named Kallie, and a Shih Tzu named Emme, who was adopted through Sparky. Lexie says when she first got Emme, she was very shy of humans because of her bad experience with them. But she has blossomed into a wonderful dog after lots of TLC. Lexie enjoys taking care of animals and meeting the humans who love them.
Tonya is a graduate of Daviess Co. High School and OCC. She enjoys working with animals and the feeling she gets every day from helping them. She has a large pet family that includes goldfish; numerous chickens; Bitzy, Bandit, Brooke, and Peyton the goats; Spastic, Magic, Creek, Lil Kitty; and Leo the cats; Fancy, Ipod, and Tipper the dogs; and Dunkin and Dixon the donkeys, who have been in the newspaper several times and volunteer at live nativity scenes during Christmas.
Renee joins us from Wheeling, WV. Her family includes her dogs, Wrigley, Ricky, and Lucy. She also has three cats named Bennie, Chester, and Ralphie. Renee’s favorite thing about working at Wills Animal Hospital is being able to educate pet owners so they can better care for their furry family members.
Kim enjoys talking with clients in depth, getting to know them and seeing how much they love their pets. She adopted her lab/Pyrenees mix Pearl from a rescue who had a litter of puppies needing homes. Pearl was the only girl in the litter, and it was love at first sight.
Kelsie is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in health science. She shares her home with her dachshund Sailor and her beagle Jolene. She enjoys meeting all of the pets and their owners. Being able to be around animals all day and help them in every way possible is her dream come true.
Lisa Durham is a Kentucky Wesleyan graduate with a degree in zoology. Lisa enjoys working with all of the patients and the variety that every day brings. Along with her husband and two daughters, she shares her home with horses, dogs, and cats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and teaching riding lessons.
Jessica is a graduate of Deltona High and Daytona State. She shares her home with Sky the cat and dogs, Starla and Mia. Jessica is proud of the high-quality treatment options available for pet care at Wills Animal Hospital and enjoys working with the doctors and staff.
Cindy graduated from Purdue University as a Vet Tech. She enjoys the variety of activities that her job brings daily. Her four-legged kids include Ricky Monkey the cat and her five Shelties, Banner, Seth, Jeremy, Missy Boo, and Dexter Smidgen, who she shows in Rally and has been to national competition with twice. Outside of work, she teaches classes in Obedience and Rally at the local kennel club.
My name is Savanna, and I am 21 years old. My husband and I have three pets, and their names are Raphael, Calypso, and Nova. I am newly married and love animals. I tend to drive my husband crazy with new animal facts that I learn. During my down time, I love to train my bull Mastiff/German Shepherd mix Raph and teach him new tricks. I also love to read and draw. One day, I do hope to go back to school to become a vet tech and hopefully a veterinarian.
My name is Emily Houser, I’m 18 years old, and I graduated from Daviess County High School in 2019. Right now, I am taking classes at Owensboro Community and Technical College, but I will be transferring to Murray State University this fall to start my education in pre-veterinary medicine. After I finish classes at Murray, I would like to go to Auburn University to become a veterinarian. I would love to practice on both large and small animals. I’ve been working with animals for the last two and a half years, and I love it! Working at Wills is awesome because I get to learn new things every day and take care of animals!
I am 20 years old. I go to Kentucky Wesleyan College and plan to major in psychology and criminal justice. I have two rescued aussiedoodles. I grew up in Louisiana with many different animals on our land that we raised.
Kaitlyn is a student at Murray State University. Her major is pre-veterinary medicine, with a minor of equine science. She has an Appendix Gelding named Moonshine, a Great Dane named Daphne, and a Beagle mix named Dale. Kaitlyn loves the experience, skill building, and hands-on opportunities Wills Animal Hospital has to offer.
